Fees & Insurance

Payment
Initial Consultation: I offer a free initial 20-30 minute consultation. In this consultation, we will talk briefly about what you are struggling with, and your preferences for care.

Fee: My fee for a 50-minute individual therapy session is $250, and couples therapy sessions are $270. I reserve a portion of my practice for low income/sliding scale clients. I accept all major credit and debit cards, FSA, and HSA accounts. If you have a card on file, it will be charged within 24 hours of your appointment. Please inquire for consulting and speaking fees.

Please note that I am exclusively offering phone or video therapy sessions at this time. In-person sessions may be available in the future.
Insurance
I am an out-of-network provider for PPO insurance plans. Most PPO plans provide some reimbursement for psychotherapy after the deductible is met (e.g., 40-80%). I suggest you contact your insurance company prior to our first session to determine what your costs will be. You may want to consider:
-
Your deductible (the amount you pay out-of-pocket until insurance coverage applies).
-
Percentage of out-of-network fees that are covered for psychotherapy with a licensed psychologist.
-
Any limits on number of sessions, diagnosis, or fees charged by mental health providers (for example, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of an allowable fee that could be less than my fee).

I will provide you with an invoice each month to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement of fees.

Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, health care providers need to give an estimate of the bill for services to patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance.
-
You have the right to receive a good faith estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
-
Make sure your health care provider gives you a good faith estimate in writing at least one business day before you receive services. You can also ask your health care provider for a good faith estimate before you schedule a service.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your good faith estimate.
Cancellation Policy
You will not be charged for a canceled session if you contact me at least 48 hours in advance, although more notice is always appreciated.
